Team USA slumped to a shock result
Team USA’s women’s basketball head coach Cheryl Reeve is receiving both mockery and criticism following her side’s defeat to Team WNBA.
Against the odds in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game came on Saturday night, Team WNBA managed to defeat the Olympic team with a side made up of stars who weren’t chosen to represent their country in Paris this summer.
Angel Reese on playing with Caitlin Clark:
"It's so cool, when she gets the ball im running looking for the ball because I know she's gonna throw it, she's been great to play with. Hopefully in 4 years we'll be Olympians together." pic.twitter.com/Jddwe9T8Sc

Angel Reese shares her excitement about playing with Caitlin Clark
Reeve’s decision to leave out WNBA star Caitlin Clark from the Olympic team has caused uproar in recent weeks, and so fans of the Indiana Fever player were quick to point out the irony that the very same player has come back to haunt the head coach of Team USA.
“Cheryl Reeve getting her ass kicked by Clark and the other Olympic snubs is art,” wrote one user on social media after the game.
“Cheryl Reeve so pissed Caitlin Clark is the best point guard in this game,” another mentioned.
These types of comments were endless after the shock result, in which Clark, along with Chicago Sky star Angel Reese, helping the All-Stars to a 117-109 victory. Clark set a rookie record for assists in an All-Star Game with 10, and Reese notched her trademark double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
While all eyes were on the aforementioned pair, it was Arike Ogunbowale who was the standout player after scoring an All-Star Game record of 34 points.
Stewart and Wilson the bright sparks for Team USA
Breanna Stewart and A’ja Wilson were Team USA’s best players on the night, with Stewart scoring an impressive 31 points and Wilson getting 22 of her own, but it wasn’t enough for the National Team, who will now travel to Paris for the Olympics with their heads down, and with Reeve with a lot of explaining to do.
