Actress Gabrielle Union showed love for the WNBA and Las Vegas Aces rookie Kate Martin after their win against the Dallas Wings. Martin had a chance to play good minutes on the hardwood, which doesn’t come often for the rookie. The former Iowa player received support from Union recently.

The Aces have dropped off on the Western Conference standings and they are now third with a 13-7 record. As the season reaches its conclusion of the first half of the season, the team is trying to improve its record. Martin has also made the most of the chances given to her.

The crowd cheers for Martin whenever she is on the floor, making her the fan favorite. Against the Wings, she finished with six points, three rebounds and two assists. The rookie also had two blocks in the game as she shot 2-3 from beyond the arc.

Everyone enjoyed her shooting, including the Bad Boys II star. An X user showed a screenshot of Dwyane Wade’s wife liking the post about Martin’s three-pointer.

As a rookie selected in the second round, Martin doesn’t get a lot of chances. Additionally, she’s playing with the defending champions, which includes some of the league’s best players.

In this season, Martin has had a chance to play 19 games, including one start. She’s averaged 3.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists so far in her rookie season.

The guard has also shot the basketball well from beyond the arc. The 24-year-old has made 38.3% of her shots from deep.

Arike Ogunbowale gave Kate Martin another viral moment

Fans have enjoyed the few moments Kate Martin has had on the basketball floor. Additionally, she’s found a new wave of fans with how she’s gone viral a couple of times.

One of her viral moments was when the Aces pranked her by getting on the team bus and pretending to leave her during her birthday.

On another occasion, she went viral for a different reason. As they played against the Wings, she was tasked to guard Arike Ogunbowale.

The shifty point guard made her pay with her handles as she dropped Martin to the ground with a stepback move. Fans sitting courtside couldn’t control their reactions as they stood in surprise of the move by Ogunbowale.

Still, Martin did a good job in accepting the challenge of guarding one of the league’s best guards. However, she has a lot to learn as a defender.
