If Skip Bayless was looking to get back with his Ex-girlfriend, he will have to look elsewhere.

The New York Post reported this week that Bayless is reportedly leaving FS1’s “Undisputed” later this summer. He signed with them in 2016 following his departure from ESPN after 12 years.

He would later sign a four-year, $32 million contract extension in 2021.

Despite his impending exit, the Post says that “Undisputed” will continue in some form after his departure.

As soon as the news came down, many assumed that Bayless might be headed back to ESPN for a reunion with Stephen A. Smith, but it appears that ship has sailed.

ESPN shut down a possible reunion almost immediately, saying, “We are set with the current First Take rotation, and wish Skip the best on his future endeavors,” an ESPN spokesman said on Tuesday, via Front Office Sports.

The possibility of Bayless coming back to First Take was never an option after Shannon Sharpe beat him to the punch when he joined up with Stephen A. Smith following his departure from Fox Sports.

Sharpe left the show last summer for ESPN after his relationship with Bayless deteriorated due to heated arguments that turned into personal attacks live on air.

Since Sharpe’s departure, Bayless has been paired with Rachel Nichols, Paul Pierce, Richard Sherman, Keyshawn Johnson, and Michael Irvin, but ratings have never returned.

What Is Next For Skip Bayless?

Now that Skip is leaving Fox Sports and ESPN doesn’t want a reunion, where is Bayless headed next in his career?

Bayless just might put everything he has into his podcast, “The Skip Bayless Show,” which has over 160,000 followers on YouTube.
