Democrat voters pleased with President Joe Biden stepping aside for Vice President Kamala to lead the 2024 ticket forked over an eye-popping $81 million in just 24 hours.

It’s giving her campaign momentum as Biden remains out-of-sight as he recovers from COVID in Delaware a day after dropping out. The VP is headed to the Wilmington campaign headquarters this evening to meet with staff.

Top Democrats including former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Clintons are finally publicly backing her as the Democratic nominee to to try and keep Donald Trump out of the White House. But several notable Democrats are still silent – including Barack Obama.

On Capitol Hill, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is facing bipartisan calls for her to resign after admitting ‘failures’ that led to the almost assassination of Trump just nine days ago.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign has sought out vetting materials from a number of swing-state Democrats as she must now pick a running mate.

Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer are on the list, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday night.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker has also been asked to provide vetting materials.

The Democrats will hold their convention in Chicago next month.

While Illinois is not a swing state, Pritzker is still a midwestern governor and he comes with deep pockets – with Forbes estimating he’s worth $3.5 billion. He also is tight with the Democrats’ donor network.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said on CNN Monday that he’s yet to be asked.

Most of the candidates on the VP list are white men – as Harris would be the first woman and the first woman of color to be elected president should she be successful in November.
