Caitlin Clark candidly answered reporters that she wasn’t disappointed when she wasn’t chosen to be part of Team USA which will compete in the Olympics. The Indiana Fever rookie added that the experience will only motivate her and make her dream more about competing in the event in 2028. Clark also expressed her excitement to have almost a month to relax and recover from niggling injuries.

Clark didn’t say how she will spend the downtime but her Fever teammate Lexie Hull shared on Instagram some interesting photos. Hull showed pictures of herself, Clark and Katie Lou Samuelson having fun at sea.

Two of their Indiana Fever teammates promptly responded to Hull’s IG post. Aliyah Boston reacted:

“The cutest mermaids [love emojis”

Temi Fagbenle added:

“Enjoymentttt”

The five last played a competitive game on July 18 when the Fever lost 101-93 to the Dallas Wings. Indiana’s next game doesn’t happen until Aug. 17 when they host Olympians Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner and the Mercury.

Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark helped Team WNBA to an impressive 117-109 win over Team USA in the All-Star game nine days ago. Based on Lexie Hull’s photos, it’s safe to assume at least three of the Fever players are having a blast with their long vacation.

Caitlin Clark vows to use the month-long vacation to get better

Caitlin Clark admitted that she will be motivated to be better than ever after missing out on an Olympic spot. Clark’s stats, when the team was announced, were better than some members of Team USA. The chip on her shoulder that she played with seems to have only gotten bigger.

Here’s what she had to say about how she will spend part of WNBA’s long vacation:

“It is a great opportunity for us to work and get better. It’s a great opportunity for myself to get in the weight room to work on the core and work on the things that I wanna get better at that maybe I didn’t have time going from college to the pro season, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Caitlin Clark is having fun at sea with two of her Indiana Fever teammates. They’re getting a well-deserved break from basketball. In a few days, they will likely be back in the gym working on their respective games.

Clark, Boston and Samuelson were in the women’s basketball training pool but weren’t selected. Expect them to show in the second half of the WNBA season that they deserved spots on Team USA as much as those who played in Paris.
