PATRICK Mahomes couldn’t help but marvel at WNBA star Arike Ogunbowale’s play during the league’s All-Star Game.

Ogwunbowale won the All-Star Game MVP and helped Team WNBA get past Team USA 117-109 on Saturday night.

The 27-year-old Ogwunbowale set an All-Star game record with 34 points, all of which occurred in the second half.

She scored zero points going into halftime, but she scored an astounding 21 points in the third quarter and then 13 in the last quarter.

Ogwunbowale was named the All-Star game MVP, and the Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes applauded the Dallas Wings guard on social media.

“Yo! @Arike_O is hoopin hooping!” the three-time Super Bowl champion wrote on X.

Ogunbowale was an efficient 10-of-20 from the floor.

She made eight three-pointers on 13 attempts from deep.

Ogwunbowale stole the show while most eyes were on rookie stars Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.

She took home her second WNBA All-Star Game MVP Award.

Ogunbowale entered the game with a season average of 22.3 points per game.

She revealed after the game that head coach and former WNBA legend Cheryl Miller sent a message to her at halftime following her scoreless first half.

“Coach called me out at halftime,” Ogunbowale said, per Sports Illustrated’s Geoff Magliocchetti.

“Told me to just play your game…you see what happened.”

The Indiana Fever’s Clark finished the game with four points and 10 assists while the Chicago Sky’s Reese posted 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Team USA was led by the New York Liberty’s Breanna Stewart, who scored 31 points and totaled 10 rebounds.

Las Vegas Aces star A’Ja Wilson recorded 22 points and six rebounds and veteran Diana Taurasi added 14 points.

Team WNBA’s players consisted of those who weren’t selected to be part of the United States in the Paris Olympics.

Team USA will play their first game in Paris on July 29 when they face Japan.

Clark and the rest of the WNBA stars will get a much-needed break.

They will be off until August 15.
