There have been rumors about Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark turning down a $1 million offer to appear on a TV show for one episode. According to the rumors, Clark was set to appear in the talk show “The View,” but the plans didn’t push through.
The rumors started on the social media website Facebook. It started in July when an iFunny user shared a screenshot from the website. It also included an alleged quote from the WNBA rookie.
“Have you seen The View? All they do is yell. I can’t figure out why they’re on TV,” the alleged quote from Clark read.
On Wednesday, Snoops.com confirmed that the rumors about Clark aren’t true in their post on X (formerly known as Twitter) and in an article.
The rumors about Clark’s rejection of the $1 million offer have no basis. No other media outlet has reported about it, and the sources shared on Facebook and other social media sites aren’t credible. The rumor originated from a website called America’s Last Line of Defense (ALLOD).
The website usually has humorous or politically satirical posts. In their website’s “About Us” section, they specifically warn users that they are a network of parody, satire and tomfoolery.
Caitlin Clark is excited to return to action
The WNBA season is on a break as some stars are playing for Team USA in Paris. The players left in the US have made the most of their free time by practicing and taking the time to unwind. Caitlin Clark finds the rest helpful as she has allowed her body to take a break from the long season.
Still, that doesn’t mean she’s looking forward to the return of the season. After a practice session recently, Clark shared her excitement about returning to action.
“I’m just going to try to come back and compete and hopefully have a little more legs under me,” Clark said.
“Have a little more rest under me. I feel like I’m ready to get back out there and get playing, but that’s probably because that’s really all I’ve known over the course of the last years.
During her free time, she’s spent a lot of time practicing with her teammates. They’ve also done some mini-games during practice sessions, which has helped their team chemistry.
Clark is only in her rookie season but she’s done a lot for the Fever this season. In 26 games, she had averaged 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists. Fans will get to see her back on the court in their first game after the break on Aug. 16 against the Phoenix Mercury.
