Barbie was named Favorite Movie and its star Margot Robbie Favorite Movie Actress at the 2024 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards tonight. Other big winners included Percy Jackson and the Olympians as Favorite Kids TV Show, along with the show’s Walker Scobell as Favorite Male TV Star (Kids). Young Sheldon and star Iain Armitage also took top honors as Favorite Family TV Show and Favorite Male TV Star (Family), respectively. Spider-Man: Across The Spiderverse landed Favorite Animated Movie, while the long-running SpongeBob SquarePants took the Favorite Cartoon trophy. Timothée Chalamet snagged the Favorite Movie Actor honor for his role as Willy Wonka in Wonka. Olivia Rodrigo took the Favorite Female TV Star (Kids) trophy for her role as Nini in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Taylor Swift snagged three awards including Favorite Female Artist and Travis Kelce was named Favorite Male Sports Star. See the full list below.
Hosted by SpongeBob SquarePants (voiced by Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke), Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 aired live from their undersea home of Bikini Bottom, and simulcast across Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons, the Nick Jr. channel, TVLand, CMT and MTV2. Highlights included Kelly Rowland presenting Serena Williams with the Legend Gold Blimp award for her career spanning sports, fashion, beauty and lifestyle.
The show opened with an energetic dance number, featuring Paul Russell performing his hit “Lil Boo Thang,” alongside a montage of all the shows, movies, music and popular internet sensations throughout the year. The Kid LAROI also performed a medley from his chart-topping “Nights Like This,” his new single “Girls” and hit “Stay,” culminating in an epic sliming.
