Hilarious Diana Taurasi, Erica Wheeler Moment Goes Viral on Sunday: WNBA Fans Delight in Memorable Exchange

Sunday afternoon’s matchup between the Indiana Fever and Phoenix Mercury featured several tense moments that resulted in flagrant and technical fouls.

But, one moment in particular between WNBA veterans Diana Taurasi and Erica Wheeler had a much more light-hearted vibe.

Taurasi chased down Wheeler and hit her with a hard foul across the arm to prevent an easy fast-break layup.

Wheeler turned to address Taurasi with a big smile on her face, and DT replied with a playful tap on the head.

Take a look at the viral moment here:

“E-dub making fun of dt’s foul on her and dt just bonking her head, this game was so much fun and unserious,” one fan wrote on X.

Despite trailing by double-digits, the Fever stormed back to notch an 88-82 upset victory over Taurasi and the Mercury.

Taurasi finished the game with 19 points, three rebounds and three assists. Wheeler notched six points, one rebound and one assist through 20 minutes on the court.
