It was a double whammy for Angel Reese, as her luggage was misplaced for the second time by an airline in seven days. Earlier last week, the Chicago Sky rookie had a souring experience, as the airline lost her bags on the flight to Paris, and she was given just €100 to sort out her supplies. It has now happened for the second time in a week.

Reese took to X (formerly Twitter) to vent her frustration:

“I know baggage claim hatesss to see me coming because why y’all always losing my bag???

The news comes amid Angel Reese’s fashion statements that are turning heads on social media and her previous episode of losing her luggage.

Reese isn’t part of the Team USA that’s in Paris for the Olympics. But the No. 7 overall pick of this year’s draft class has a solid opportunity to be included in 2028, as she has had a meteoric rise in the WNBA.

Angel Reese made history before the WNBA hit pause for the Olympics

Angel Reese’s rookie season has been sensational. The former LSU product made history just before the WNBA break, as she notched up her 13th consecutive double-double — the most in league history. She surpassed Candace Parker, who set the record between the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

Reese has been consistent for the Sky, as she recorded a double-double in 14 of her first 20 games. She leads the league in rebounds with 11.7 per game. Her 13.9 points is second-best behind Caitlin Clark.

Speaking about the feat, Reese said that the focus is on winning games and pushing Chicago closer to the playoffs, with rebounds being the key focus.

“I just go out there and do my job. My job is to rebound, so I’m going to go out there and do my job and rebound. I know that’s what my teammates need me to do, and I’ve committed to that.”

The Sky ended the midseason in eighth place with a 10-14 record. They are one rung below Clark and the Indiana Fever who have rebounded after a dismal start to the season.

Much depends on Angel Reese and her two-way play if the Sky intend to make the playoffs. They play the Phoenix Mercury at home when the season resumes on August 15. They are three wins behind the Mercury, and the second half provides them a chance to pull up their performances and make a claim for a playoff berth.
