The Las Vegas Aces defeated the Indiana Fever 88-69 on July 2. While the Fever and Caitlin Clark kept things competitive through the first three quarters, Aces center A’ja Wilson, who put up 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks, helped keep her team in the win column.
Hours before the game, the WNBA announced this year’s All-Star roster, which included Clark, along with Fever teammates Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell.
Wilson, selected to represent Team USA, along with teammates Jackie Young and Kelsey Plum, will face off against the WNBA All-Stars on July 20. Speaking to reporters after defeating the Fever, Wilson was brutally honest about the highly-anticipated matchup.
“I’m excited for it, just to play in a Team USA uniform honestly,” Wilson said, before getting fully honest about her thoughts.

“To be honest, I’m not excited for it,’ Wilson continued “I really just want to go rest for that day. To be full transparent here, I wish we could just rest and go to Paris. But we can’t. Obviously, we owe the fans that. But we’re going to have fun with it at the same time.
“We know it’s a game that all eyes are going to be watching us. But this is an opportunity for us to show up for the fans.”
The Team USA vs. All-Star matchup takes place in Phoenix on July 20.
