The former LSU star finished with a team-high 25 points and 16 rebounds, as well as an assist.

Chicago has now won back-to-back games for just the second time this year, having done so with their first two games this season.

It also marked the Sky’s first win of the season against the Fever – who are led by first-overall draft pick Caitlin Clark – in three attempts.

After the game, Reese spoke with ESPN’s Holly Rowe about how she found the motivation to help the Sky fight back from a 15-point deficit.

“I’m a dog, you can’t teach that,” she said.

“I’m going to go out and do whatever it takes to win every single night. My teammates rely on my energy.

“So being able to continue the energy even if we’re down, even if we’re up, that’s what I do.”

Reese later noted that while she was “happy” they got the win, “I’ve got to get back to work, and we’ve got to get back to work for our next game.”

She also seemingly brushed aside any suggestions of a “budding rivalry” between her and Clark.

“It’s just a competition,” Reese said.

“They still got us, they’ve got one up on us so I’m just happy for the team, I don’t want to make it about us.”

With her eighth consecutive double-double, Reese is just four behind Candace Parker who holds the WNBA record, as per The Athletic.

Reese’s performance caught the eye of many on X, formerly known as Twitter, where she was trending during the game.

This included one of Reese’s teammates, Brianna Turner.

“Angel Reese. 25 points, 16 rebounds, but most importantly a Win. Make sure the apology is just as loud as the disrespect,” she tweeted.

Aside from Reese, guard Chennedy Carter and center Kamilla Cardoso also shone on Sunday.

How the WNBA works

THE 2024 WNBA season features 12 teams with the regular-season running from May 14 to September 9.

Each team plays 40 regular-season games – four against five teams from the same conference and two teams from the other conference, and three games against the remaining four teams.

The top eight teams in the league standings qualify for the playoffs – regardless of what conference they’re in.

The playoffs will use a best-of-three format in the first round while the semifinals and WNBA Finals are best of five.

This season also includes a month-long break for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Las Vegas Aces are defending back-to-back WNBA champions.

Carter finished with 23 points, five assists, and two rebounds, while Cardoso totaled 16 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.

Guard Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever in scoring with 24 to go with her two assists.

Clark has a team-high 13 assists, along with 17 points and six rebounds.

Center Aliyah Boston also had a solid game with 18 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

The Sky will return to action on Thursday when they host the reigning champions, the Las Vegas Aces.

Indiana too will have to wait till Thursday to return to the court, when they head for the Seattle Storm.
