New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu turned a lot of heads after she shared an emotional moment with her husband after their WNBA Finals win on Sunday.
The Liberty took down the Minnesota Lynx in the do-or-die Game 5 at Barclays Center, winning 67-62 in overtime.
While Ionescu had an ugly scoring game, finishing with just five points on 1-of-19 shooting from the field, she still contributed in other areas. The All-Star guard tallied seven rebounds, a game-high eight assists along with two steals and a block to help New York win its first-ever WNBA title.
After the contest, Ionescu couldn’t hold back her emotions, as she shouted in delight and hyped up the home crowd.
Moments later, Ionescu was spotted hugging her husband, Hroniss Grasu, as she shared the moment with him.
ESPN’s post highlighting the moment between the husband and wife quickly went viral, generating over 200,000 likes just an hour after it was shared on Instagram.
Sabrina Ionescu’s husband, Hroniss Grasu, is an NFL player who is currently a free agent. He last played for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Grasu, who also played for University of Oregon like Ionescu, popped the question to the Liberty star in 2023. The two got married a year later in March 2024, per People.
