The LeBron 22s are yet to be released to the public. However, Team USA’s women’s basketball star A’ja Wilson already got to wear one. The Las Vegas Aces superstar appears to be one of the first people to wear LeBron James’ upcoming signature shoe, and she took the time to share it with her followers on social media.

In a short clip posted on Instagram Stories, Wilson showed off a pair of the white and red colorways of LeBron 22s. She mentioned LeBron in the story and added a short phrase that shouts out her WNBA jersey number as well as the sneakers.

“22 in the 22s,” Wilson wrote on her Instagram Story.

While A’ja Wilson will be donning jersey No. 9 for Team USA, her jersey number in the WNBA is No. 22.

LeBron James also debuted his signature sneaker at a Team USA practice prior to Wilson sharing this to her Instagram. Notably, the colorway that LeBron had was different from Wilson’s. The one that the LA Lakers star wore was a combination of white, blue and red.

The colorway that LeBron wore at practice is a ‘Player Edition’ or ‘PE’ sneaker called ‘USA.’ Shoes listed as PE are usually exclusives that are not available for purchase.

The LeBron 22s are expected to be released in September with a price tag of $180. So far, fans know that a ‘Monopoly’ colorway will be among those available for purchase when it drops.

However, the official name of the colorway that Wilson posted on her Instagram is yet to be revealed.

A’ja Wilson can become a back-to-back gold medalist at 2024 Paris Olympics

Her inclusion in this year’s Olympics squad for Team USA’s women’s basketball isn’t Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson’s first time participating in international competition. She was also a member of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics squad that beat Japan for the gold medal.

With her back-to-back inclusion in the Olympics, Wilson has a chance to become a two-time Olympic gold medalist.

Additionally, if Wilson and her squad win gold this year, it will be the eighth straight Olympic gold medal for Team USA’s Women’s basketball since 1996.

Aside from Wilson, six other players on the current roster played in the 2020 Olympics. They are Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, Chelsea Gray and Jewell Loyd.

While most of these players are rivals in the WNBA, they are uniting to continue the streak of gold medals that Team USA women’s basketball has brought home since 1996.
