FA President Prince William is among the 50,000 strong crowd watching England’s quarter final match against Switzerland in Dusseldorf, Germany as he was seen enjoying himself
Prince William was spotted cheering on England as they kicked off their Euro 2024 quarter final clash in Germany, as he sang with the other fans in the stadium.
The heir to the throne and FA President travelled to Dusseldorf today to support Gareth Southgate’s side for the second time during the tournament, against Switzerland. The Prince of Wales was in the stands to see England draw 1-1 with Denmark in Frankfurt during the group stage.
And today he is among the crowd of 50,000 as he was spotted grinning ahead of kick off, before taking part in the national anthem. William, like millions of other Brits, was among those to have suffered through the round of 16 match with Slovakia.

After the team’s narrow 2-1 win, he tweeted: ““Emotional rollercoaster! Let’s go @England ! Quarter finals here we come! W”.
Now he will be urging Harry Kane and his team mates to go one step further and secure a place in the semi-final against Holland or Turkey in Dortmund next Wednesday. To do that they will have to roll over a well-fancied Swiss side who beat the holders Italy 2-0 to reach the quarter-finals. New Prime Minister Keir Starmer also showed his support for the team, posting on X: “You’ve got this England.”

He said: “Guys, while I was on the way here, I was thinking what shall I say. And I thought what can I offer as you are all an experienced team here with Gareth and I was thinking what could I say to help before you went away?

“I was on the school run this morning with the children and I said ‘what shall I say to the England team today’. The best bit of advice I got was to eat twice the amount you would normally eat. And I now have visions of all of you running around with massive tummies and getting stitches on the pitch. So I think take my youngest’s advice with a pinch of salt!”
However, when asked about Louis’ suggestion to eat twice as much food to prepare for the tournament, England captain Harry Kane jokingly said: “I don’t think our nutritionist will be happy with that advice.”
