According to a story that resurfaced, Johnson narrated a story about a time when he accidentally wound up hitting his stuntman while shooting an action scene for The Scorpion King. The actor mentioned how he felt guilty after the error and ended up apologizing with an expensive gift.

Dwayne Johnson Once Accidentally Hit His Stuntman 

Working across several movie titles and franchises, Dwayne Johnson is famously known for his appearances in action and comedy movies. But that’s not all, for Johnson also has a few historical fiction under his belt, like The Scorpion King. Nonetheless, there’s a story behind that movie that the actor shared during his appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

Apparently, according to a recently resurfaced interview, Johnson revealed making a stunt mistake while shooting an action scene with his stuntman. The actor went into detail and mentioned how he accidentally knocked down his stuntman with a punch. Considering his muscular build, it’s not hard to imagine the damage taken by the stuntman.

“When I first started, I did The Scorpion King. It was my very first movie and I had this big action sequence. And I wound up hitting a stuntman and kind of clocking him super hard. He was a little older, he went down and I felt so bad.”
Accidents happen, but certainly, taking a full-on strike from an exceptionally big and strong wrestler like Dwayne Johnson is no child’s play. Thus, it ended up making the actor feel awful about the ordeal.

Dwayne Johnson Offered an Expensive Apology 

Although it was an accident, Dwayne Johnson mentioned feeling extremely bad about it. And being the gentle giant that he is, Johnson immediately apologized to his stuntman. But when felt it wasn’t enough, the actor took his apology to the next level and bought the gentleman he hit, a Rolex watch as a gesture.

“I bought him a Rolex watch…because that’s how bad I felt. I felt super bad because I mean these guys are the backbone of our business. So I did buy him a Rolex watch.”
But surprisingly, after Dwayne Johnson pulled off this totally crazy gesture to overcome his guilt, the story went out and he faced the unexpected. When Graham Norton asked, Johnson revealed how he encountered people who later tried to get hit by him on purpose to exact an expensive gift.
