Now, his initial drug reports from his autopsy have come back clear for both methamphetamine and fentanyl, according to TMZ.

However, these tests are the first of more in-depth processes to come.

A more thorough toxicology report for the Friends star may take several months to be returned, at which point the coroner will be able to confirm a cause of death.

The reports will check for dangerous levels of prescription drugs in Matthew’s system, as well as other illegal drugs.

Matthew had anti-depressants, anti-anxiety drugs, and a COPD drug in his Los Angeles mansion, police told TMZ.

First responders earlier said they did not find any illicit drugs at the scene and did not suspect any foul play.

COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, refers to a group of breathing and air-flow diseases that includes emphysema or chronic bronchitis.

FINAL MOMENTS

According to a new report, Matthew hadn’t been in his hot tub for long before his body was discovered.

Hours earlier, the 54-year-old had played racquet sport pickleball with a female friend, who revealed the star had felt unwell and “fatigued” for the past week.

He returned home from the country club and sent his assistant on an errand.

His assistant found him unresponsive in the water when they returned and made a frantic call to 911.

The television actor was pronounced dead at the scene after firefighters lifted him from the hot tub.

However, his body was not “waterlogged,” suggesting that his assistant came across him quickly after his death.

SAYING GOODBYE

On Monday, the cast of Friends – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow – shared a joint statement on the loss of their “family” member.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” their statement, which was first obtained by People, reads.

“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.

“In time we will say more, as and when we are able,” the statement continues. “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”

The note was signed by each of his co-stars.
