The Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese debate remains a hot topic within the WNBA world, even with the league going through the Olympic break and both players enjoying their time off doing anything but playing basketball.

In a clip from “House of Highlights,” several NBA players made their picks between Reese and Clark for the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year. Podcaster Dan Dakich of OutKick claimed that this selection were on ‘racial lines.’

“This is clearly on racial lines and I get a kick out of it,” Dakich said before going through the stats of both players.

“I don’t know who’s the Rookie of the Year, and frankly, I’m not sure I care. I get to a point sometimes and I think you do too where it’s enough. It’s like polling Harris and Trump. The polls are interesting, the polls are fascinating, but let’s be honest, the media is going to gaslight you and tell you, ‘Well, Kamala Harris is a rockstar and Trump is evil.'”

He added that depending on the race of the person you ask who should take the award home, the response would be different.

“In the rule, in the ranking and in the debate in the Rookie of the Year in the WNBA, African-Americans are going to say Angel Reese. White dudes are going to say, Caitlin Clark,” Dakich added.

Dakich picked his winner, saying it’s not even a close race.

“Me personally, I’ve watched them both, I don’t think it’s even close. Actually, I said before I think Caitlin Clark’s going to be in the running for MVP, screw Rookie of the Year and right now in the betting market, Caitlin Clark is third,” Dakich said.

What did Jaylen Brown say about Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark ROY debate?

Earlier this week, Jaylen Brown and Immanuel Quickley picked Reese to win the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, while Luka Garza picked Caitlin Clark to win it. Josh Okogie remained neutral with his choice.

“Right now I think Angel Reese,” Brown said.

This is a heated race in the WNBA. Both Clark and Reese have exceeded expectations this season, but we still have to watch more from these rookies to know which one will take the award home.

They had different starts to their careers but right now, their rivalry is engulfing the entire basketball world.
