Speculation is swirling around San Francisco 49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk and the possibility that the NFC champions could trade the wide receiver elsewhere.

Brandon Aiyuk is under contract for one more season with the San Francisco 49ers, but at least a couple of people close to him believe the wide receiver has played his last game as Aiyuk’s girlfriend, Rochelle, shared in a social media post that she and their son might have spent their last moment at Levi’s Stadium because “we might not be out here next season.”

Aiyuk didn’t do much to quell the rumors as he posted “Don’t forget what got you there,” with a pair of eyes emoji.

In the midst of that hoopla, New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner is sending a clear message that he wants Aiyuk on his team.

Gardner then started responding to several social media posts talking about players that could potentially become available and that includes Aiyuk.

“[Brandon] Aiyuk is one WR I see who gets open the majority of the game but don’t get thrown the ball. And he can win in contested situations so even if he’s not wide open, he should get the opportunity to make a play on the ball instead of throwing it away -LeSauce(GM),” Gardner put out on X.

Aiyuk is due for a massive extension after his career season. According to Over the Cap, the Niners would save $10.39 million in 2024 by extending Aiyuk.

The 2020 first-round pick caught 75 passes for a career-high 1,342 yards along with seven touchdowns in the regular season.

Things changed in the postseason as he only had nine receptions spread equally across San Francisco’s three playoff games. In the Super Bowl, he hauled in three passes on six targets for 49 yards.
