The WWE Summerslam 2023 might witness the return of Dwayne Johnson

The internet is swirling with rumors that Dwyane Johnson is planning to return to the WWE ring for this year’s Summer Slam. Such speculations have been surrounding the internet for years, but this time it seems like WWE fans might get lucky to witness The Rock once again in the ring.

The rumors seem to become reality soon, as this year WWE is experiencing record-breaking profits and sales, and perhaps this is the golden time for Johnson to mark his return. Moreover, since Hollywood is experiencing a double strike, actors and writers have halted their work, and amidst this, the Jumaji actor has ample time to dedicate to wrestling.

Dwayne Johnson retired from WWE in 2004, at the age of 32. However, it didn’t mark his permanent retirement, as in 2012 he made a return to the ring and fought against John Cena. Johnson shared the reason for his retirement. The actor claimed,
“I retired in from the WWE in 2004 at the age of 32. And at that time, well here’s the why. Why I retired was two reasons. One: my contract had expired and two: which is the most important thing, an agreement that I have with anybody in the world. Any company, any individual, it’s always important to me – it means everything to me – to shake that person’s hand and look them in the eye. In 2004 when my contract expired, I had delivered on my agreement with the WWE and with my long-time mentor and very, very good friend Vince McMahon.”
Now, after a decade, the actor might mark his return to the ring.
