Keanu Reeves has a lot to unpack in terms of films and career achievements. The action star of Hollywood, who could give Tom Cruise a run for his money, has spent decades bringing joy to the doorsteps of global movie theatres through projects like The Matrix and John Wick franchises. And once it was time to reap the profits, Reeves was there to witness firsthand the reaction of the people when he smashed the bad men’s heads in while getting banged around into walls and thrown off of buildings.

Keanu Reeves Goes Undercover To See His Own Film
It is not every day that a celebrity is found walking among us (unless it happens to be in the streets of LA and New York). It is even rarer to find them enjoying their own film in a theatre packed with an audience. But Keanu Reeves does both, and that too, very subtly so as to not disrupt the people out of their naturally calm and collected state.
The Hollywood star who has built a reputation, however inadvertently, of being one of the most down-to-earth, humble, and likable personalities, can often be found riding the subway or sharing a sandwich and a conversation with a homeless man on the street. It wasn’t surprising then to know that Reeves had gone undercover to experience how his John Wick film fared with the audience in a live setting, and not simply rely on the paper reviews, film critics, and Rotten Tomatoes, for their understanding of their film’s impact on the people.

As such, the Speed actor determinately headed down to a theatre armed with popcorn, M&M, and Coke to resolutely bask in the whole experience of watching a film – John Wick 3 to be precise, and gauge the public’s perception surrounding his art.
Keanu Reeves Learns a Lot About John Wick at the Theatres
While at the movies, Keanu Reeves had the singular pleasure of not only witnessing the completed theatrical cut of his film on the big screen but take in the love and enthusiasm that people shared with the John Wick franchise firsthand. Speaking about his experience with Esquire, the actor revealed:
“I didn’t know if I was going to get the chance to do another one, and I just wanted to see if people like it,” he said. “It was cool when people started laughing during the knife fight in the opening. I love John Wick movies! They’re fun! I wanted to be with an audience, because I didn’t know if I would get to see it again, or if another one would happen. I wanted to soak it in, to see it on the big screen — these movies are made for the big screen.”
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum
Reeves’s latest installment, John Wick: Chapter 4 was a bit drawn out, even though it did serve as a nice closure to the saga of the retired assassin. But, much to the chagrin and mixed reaction of the masses, Lionsgate recently announced that John Wick 5 is currently in development. Alongside the latest film, two spin-offs, namely The Continental (a prequel series starring Colin Woodell as a young Winston) and Ballerina, a film starring Ana de Armas are currently on the line-up.
The Continental and Ballerina will premiere on 22 September 2023 and 7 June 2024 respectively.
