Phoenix Mercury star center Brittney Griner received a technical foul on Sunday for shoving Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston.

The two were jostling for position in the paint when Griner shoved Boston in what looked to be her head or neck area.

Despite this aggressive shove, Boston made sure to show Griner respect during her postgame press conference.

While audio issues from the Indiana Fever’s YouTube account made it impossible to hear exactly what the reporter asked Boston, she was clearly asked a question about Griner and responded with, “I did indeed,” in a joking manner.

“It definitely was a battle,” Boston continued. “It’s hard. I mean, (Brittney Griner), she’s talented, and once she puts that ball above her head, it’s really hard to get there.

“So I just tried my best to make it really hard for her to catch it. Tried not to be mad when she made some shots because that’s what she’s gonna do … but it’s a tough matchup all the time.”

Boston clearly has a great deal of respect for Griner, and didn’t take the shove and ensuing technical foul personally.

Not to mention Boston and her Fever team gained the last laugh.
