It has been over a year since Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston last played for her alma mater, the South Carolina Gamecocks. But despite being in the middle of the 2024 WNBA season, Boston found time to swing by Columbia and meet her former coaches at the school: the legendary Dawn Staley and Gamecocks assistant Lisa Boyer.

In a social media post on Monday evening, Staley shared a photo of the three Gamecocks legends, with Boston rocking some pink braids on her hair.

“Guess who came into town to surprise us,” Staley captioned her post on X (formerly Twitter). “The one, the only, thee @aa_boston…..got to the see the peekaboo pink braids…..they’re even cuter in person!! Love you AB!!!”

Boston’s visit warmed the hearts of basketball fans online.

“How does that room not explode from too much talent in one place?

This is a picture of 3 powerful women.”

“Awl I never really see coach Boyer smile she’s so pretty!! ❤️❤️”

“Awesome to see this 😍 Enjoy your time together😌😃”

“Love it”

“Three goats!! 🐐 🐐 🐐”

“So glad you came to visit!! 💕💕💕”

Boston has also reacted to Staley’s post.

“My forever favsss🫶🏾🫶🏾 love yall”

Selected first overall by the Fever at the 2023 WNBA Draft, Boston starred for the Gamecocks for four years during her memorable college career. She even won a national title with Staley and the Gamecocks in 2022. During her stint with South Carolina, Boston averaged 14.1 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists across 138 games.

Team success is harder to come by for Boston with the Fever, but together with Caitlin Clark, Indiana’s future shines incredibly bright.
