The event, broadcast live on Rai2 and Rai Sport, attracted around 30,000 attendees to Fuorigrotta, where the Universiade’s opening ceremony unfolded with vibrant choreography, music, and fireworks. The Universiade, known as the Olympics for university students, ran from July 3 to July 14, showcasing top-tier athletes from across the globe.
Alongside Bocelli and Matteo’s incredible duet, the ceremony also featured the amazing Malika Ayane, who performed Toto Cutugno’s iconic song “Italiano,” and Paralympic athlete Bebe Vio, who carried the Italian flag with pride. The moment when soccer star Lorenzo Insigne lit the torch added even more excitement to the celebration, all while the crowd experienced the passion and energy of an event of this scale.
