“Andrea Bocelli Delivers a Breathtaking Live Performance of ‘Caruso’ From the Heart of Pisa, Italy – A Mesmerizing Tribute to the Legend With His Soul-Stirring Tenor”/sondinh/

ANDREA BOCELLI sings Caruso live in an absolutely stunning unearthed performance from Pisa in Italy.

Andrea Bocelli has performed some incredible covers over the years including Caruso. The 1986 track was penned by Italian singer-songwriter Lucio Dalla and dedicated to Italian tenor Enrico Caruso, who died in 1921. The song’s lyrics go through the pain and longing of a dying man who is looking into the eyes of a woman who is dear to him.

Andrea famously sang the iconic song on his 1994 debut solo album Il Mare Calmo della Sera. While Caruso on featured on his 1997 album Romanza three years later.

That same year Andrea gave a goosebump-inducing open-air performance of the song in Pisa, Italy.

The Italian tenor famously performed with an orchestra to a huge crowd in the city’s Piazza Dei Cavalieri.

A couple of years ago, Andrea’s son Matteo Bocelli gave his rendition of Caruso, following in his father’s footsteps.

The now 23-year-old, who has a solo album coming out this year, has really inherited his father’s talents.

Matteo sang Caruso in 2018 inside Slovenia’s Postojna Cave, as captured on the country’s TV station RTVSLO.

The rising star also sang a duet of Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling In Love with Slovenian singer Nuška Drašček.

Interestingly, the Elvis song from his 1961 movie Blue Hawaii is another famous cover by Andrea Bocelli.

Clearly, Matteo has been following in his father’s footsteps as he now seeks to find his own voice.

Most recently, he performed his solo debut on 2020 album Disney Goes Classical.

For the record, the 23-year-old performed Elton John’s Can You Feel The Love Tonight from The Lion King, alongside The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Last Easter, Andrea Bocelli gave a solo concert on Easter Sunday during lockdown.

For the live-streamed event, the 62-year-old performed a five-song set inside an empty Duomo di Milano (Milan’s cathedral).

On performing his Music For Hope concert, Andrea told Express.co.uk last year: “It was a moment of great emotion and regeneration.

“Music is an expression of the sacred, a readily available bridge across which faith can be revealed to us beyond the veil of our noisy, everyday lives.”

The 62-year-old said that while the Duomo di Milano was empty, the loneliness was a sort of mirage.

Bocelli said: “There were really millions of us there, interconnected through music, and I gave my voice to both their prayer and my own.”

“Our Christian Easter, with its message of love and redemption, seemed to me like the perfect time to take a moment to stop and reflect upon things, as well as offering a moment of hope.”
