Angel Reese remains steadfast in her support for Chicago Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon, disregarding any criticism aimed at the coach. After the Sky suffered their sixth loss in the last 10 games on Sunday, some fans began calling for Weatherspoon’s removal.
Reese took to social media issued a firm warning to those criticizing Weatherspoon, declaring her intolerance for any negative remarks about the coach, who is only in her first season leading the team.

“One thing I don’t play about is T-Spoon so let’s not even try it. That’s one thing I don’t tolerate like at all,” Reese wrote.
Weatherspoon’s career
Prior to taking on the head coaching role with the Chicago Sky, Weatherspoon served as an assistant coach for the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans.

Her coaching career began with the Westchester Phantoms in the ABA in 2007. The five-time WNBA All-Star then coached at Louisiana Tech from 2008 to 2014 before a hiatus from coaching. Weatherspoon returned to the profession in 2020 with the Pelicans, eventually joining the Sky last October.

Meanwhile, Reese has excelled under Weatherspoon‘s guidance. Reese has seen significant playing time and has been breaking records. She recently set a new WNBA record for the longest double-double streak, surpassing Candace Parker with 13 consecutive games. This season, Reese is averaging 14.1 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals over 20 games.
