Angel Reese Gives Kiyan Anthony Tough Advice on ‘Older’ Women
The WNBA star pulled no punches when talking to Melo’s son
Kiyan Anthony has grown up in the spotlight, with a pair of famous parents–Carmelo and La La Anthony–and knows a thing or two about about the perils of celebrity and the persistence of hangers-on. Angel Reese, of course, knows all that.
Anthony grew up in Brooklyn, and was three years old when Carmelo Anthony was traded from Denver to the Knicks. He spent much of his youth as a celebrity son, going to his father’s games at Madison Square Garden.
Now, Anthony is making his own name in basketball, a sport he said he did not begin to take seriously until the eighth grade. At 17 years old now and starring for Long Island Lutheran, he is nearing his college decision, with USC, Auburn and his father’s former stomping grounds, Syracuse, on his list.
Anthony has had a pretty thorough education in hadling his budding stardom. Still, that did not stop the Chicago Sky center from dispensing some mother-hen advice to him during their conversation on the “Unapologetically Angel” podcast this week.
“You need ot be careful, when you go to the league–this is coming from sis, even when you’re in college, you need to be careful with these women,” Reese told him.
Anthony responded that he would be “chilling. Reese went on: “Like no, for real. One slip up—you be seeing these stories?”
Anthony assured her was not getting involved with women. Kai, don’t do it. Because I’m coming after y’all. Don’t. I’m coming. Facts … Because you’re 17. It’s the women you gotta worry about that be a little older, too. Be careful. I’m not playing.”
Anthony is considered a four-star prospect and the top prospect in New York, according to 24/7 Sports. He most recently made a visit to USC last month.
