Angel Reese is Trending After Flexing New Nickname
Reese has quickly become one of the WNBA’s biggest stars, and her newest nickname displays that.
The 2024 WNBA season has officially ended, with the New York Liberty taking home the crown. It may be the offseason now, but Reese’s stardom continues to reach new heights.
On Wednesday, she was the narrator in Beats by Dr. Dre’s newest ad. It featured many superstars across all sports, including Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, Naomi Osaka, Sha’Carri Richardson, Shedeur Sanders, Serena Williams, Shohei Ohtani, Bronny James, Lebron James, and more.
Reese started the ad with a message.
“Listen, it’s called chasing your dreams for a reason. You gotta go get it.”
From there, she went on to call out the athletes by their iconic nicknames.
“Living legends (Messi), get it. Terminators (Haaland), get it…”

Then, Reese gave herself her own nickname.
“Y’all know walking double-doubles, get it,” she said.
“Walking double-doubles” seems fitting for her. This season, Reese became the fastest player in WNBA history to record 20 double-doubles and also broke Candace Parker’s consecutive double-doubles record with 13 straight. She finished the 2024 WNBA season as the only rookie with a double-double average, tallying 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds.
Reese made a statement on X after the ad was shared by Beats.
“Athletes get it,” she said. “Narrated by ME.”
Fans immediately took to social media as the nickname began trending.
“Walking double doubles get it 🔥🔥🔥,” a fan said.
“”y’all know walking double doubles get it’ I KNOW THAT’s MF RIGHT!!!!🗣️,” another said.
