Angel Reese shared her moment of success with the head coach of her team after the WNBA All-Star game at the Footprint Center in Chicago Phoenix. The Chicago Sky star rookie FaceTimed her coach, Teresa Weatherspoon after she dropped a double-double against the USA Women’s National Team.

The official X handle of the Chicago Sky uploaded a video of Reese and Weatherspoon, showcasing the close coach-player bond they share.

In the video, Chi-Barbie can be seen holding her phone as she waits for Weatherspoon to pick up the FaceTime call. After a few seconds, the Sky coach picks up the call and starts to yell in excitement at seeing Reese in an All-Star jersey. Reese holds the phone up in the air to give her head coach a good look at herself and then proceeds to flaunt her jersey.

Weatherspoon can be heard showering her rookie superstar with praises for her achievement.

“Yeah, that’s my girl,” Weatherspoon said on the FaceTime call.

Angel Reese can be heard thanking her as she turns her back towards the camera and walks away. As her first time experience, Angel Reese had a great showing in her first All-Star game. She scored a double-double, living up to her growing reputation as a double-double machine. At the end of the game, she had 12 points, 11 rebounds, one steal and one block.

However, her shooting prowess was still on the weaker side as she shot 5 of 10 from the field and 0 of 2 from the three-point line. She got two opportunities from the charity line and made both of those buckets in a 117-109 win against the USA Women’s National Team.

Angel Reese comes in defense of Teresa Weatherspoon with a stern message for her critics

Angel Reese came in defense of her coach Teresa Weatherspoon when the criticism fell on her for Chicago Sky’s bad performances. The Sky rookie posted on X, formerly Twitter, to express her close bond with her coach.

“One thing I don’t play about is T-Spoon so let’s not even try it. That’s one thing I don’t tolerate like at all,” Reese wrote.

Reese made it clear that she is not going to tolerate any criticism about her head coach on her watch. Her statements go to show the deep mentor-mentee bond they share on and off the court.
