Angel Reese got name-dropped in a recent hip-hop release, and she had something to say about it.

The Chicago Sky rookie was mentioned in Lakeyah’s new song, with the Atlanta rapper referring to her as the Rookie of the Year. The new track, which has been posted online, features the following line: “Rookie of the year, I feel like Angel Reese.”

Reese, a favorite for the award, is locked in a battle with Catlin Clark. Their rivalry has been the subject of much discussion, with both players making compelling arguments.

The Chicago took to X/Twitter to deliver a five-word response to Lakeyah name-dropping her.

“i love me some @lakeyah” she tweeted along with a kiss emoji.

Lakeyah has been an Angel Reese fan for a while and showed support for her in June, when she referred to her as a “Louisiana freak” and a “10” in a tweet.

Reese is averaging 13.5 points and 12 rebounds per game in her rookie season. She was named the Rookie of the Month for June and was recently the Player of the Week.

Clark has also impressed in her first season with the Fever. The former Iowa point guard has also been selected as a Rookie of the Month this season and set a WNBA record as she became the first rookie to record a triple-double in league history earlier this month.

Both players were named to the All-Star team this season and will play together for the first time later this month.
