Angel Reese Reveals Major Ownership Goal

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has big aspirations beyond the basketball court. That much is clear in her latest interview with Wall Street Journal Magazine.

Reese has been trying a lot of new things throughout the 2024 WNBA season and during this offseason. From reaching endorsement deals to venturing into fashion and other businesses, the All-Star forward is really doing her best to set herself up for a better future.

However, the 22-year-old is not stopping at being an endorser and establishing herself as a fashion icon. She also wants to be an inspiration and make an impact on the game she loves.

With that said, Reese shared her dream of having her own women’s basketball team in the future to provide opportunities for other women and help grow the sport.

“I want to own a basketball team,” Reese told WSJ Magazine. “Just being able to grow the sport. There are so many women that I play with in my whole career that deserve a spot in this league, cause women do deserve it, like facilities like this.

“Every woman should be able to step in and be able to go into a locker room and be able to have a safe space, or go into a gym at 3:00 in the morning when they want to do that. So I want to be able to just invest.”

For what it’s worth, Angel Reese is already part of an ownership group of a professional sports team. Back in May, it was revealed that she’s one of the founding investors in the DC Power Football Club, a team playing in the USL Super League, per Forbes.

Sure enough, owning a professional basketball team is something that might not happen in the immediate future for Reese, but it will definitely be interesting to watch her try to fulfill that dream.
