The Minnesota Lynx defeated the New York Liberty 82-80 to even the best-of-five WNBA Finals series at two wins apiece.

The game went down to the wire, with Lynx forward Bridget Carleton sinking two free throws to give her team a two-point lead. With just two seconds left, the Liberty had one last chance, but Sabrina Ionescu’s fadeaway three-pointer missed, hitting only the backboard.

The Lynx saw contributions from all five starters, but guard Kayla McBride led the team in scoring with 19 points.

Chicago Sky star rookie Angel Reese was unsurprisingly tuned in to the action. As soon as the game ended, Reese took to X to share her excitement for the all-important upcoming Game 5.

“GAME 5,” she wrote. “YESSSSS.”

Reese was sensational in her first season in the WNBA. After being drafted seventh overall by the Sky out of LSU, she was named a WNBA All-Star, set the record for most double-doubles by a rookie and was a WNBA Peak Performer.

Each season, the Peak Performer Award is given to players who lead the league in points, rebounds and assists per game.

She won the award for rebounds, averaging 13.1.

In addition to her 13.1 rebounds per game, she also averaged 13.6 points and 1.9 assists.

Game 5 of the WNBA Finals is scheduled for Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN. The Lynx will be looking to capture their fifth WNBA title, while the Liberty will look to win their first.
