CeeDee Lamb might be on the move this summer, given that the Dallas Cowboys are dragging their feet with his extension.
The wide receiver is not prepared to train or play until his finances are sorted, and the Cowboys might be forced to consider a trade if his holdout continues.
Lamb has established himself as one of the most productive wideouts in the NFL and his departure would come as a huge blow to Dallas. But, should it come to that, they will look to ensure that the blow is as soft as it could possibly be.
As such, a sensational trade proposal has been making the rounds online this Friday. It would see Lamb join the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for Rashee Rice, a 2025 first-round pick, and a 2026 first-round pick.
CeeDee Lamb To Kansas City Sounds Great, But It’s Unlikely To Happen
While the above would shake up the league, it’s probably not something we’ll see happen. The Cowboys and Lamb want things to remain as is, with the extension the only sticking point.
The WR has also not requested a trade, though he has teased a reunion with former college teammate Marquise Brown, who joined KC this offseason.
Rice’s legal issues also pose a problem. The Chiefs WR could get hit with a significant suspension next season for his part in a street race that left several people nursing injuries in Dallas.
CeeDee Lamb had a career season with the Cowboys in 2023, registering 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. It also marked his third consecutive campaign in which he logged over 1,000 receiving yards.
The Cowboys obviously don’t want to lose a player of his caliber, and a move to the Chiefs would likely guarantee their Super Bowl three-peat.
They will hope to sign him to a deal before the beginning of the upcoming season, but it would be in their best interest to speed things up.
