With Heartfelt Appreciation For His Loyal Audience, The Legendary “Delilah” Singer Delivered A Bold, Defiant Four-Word Message, Silencing Any Doubts About His Future In Music./sondinh/

The 84-year-old previously admitted he has “less control” over his voice as he gets older.

Sir Tom Jones, 84, has provided a determined update on potential future performances after recently wrapping up his global Ages & Stages Tour.

Sir Tom Jones, 84, discusses retirement as he admits his voice has 'changed' | HELLO!
Over the past 10 months, the Delilah hitmaker has been performing across the globe for hundreds of thousands of adoring fans – stretching from the USA to the UAE to Brazil, the UK, and beyond.

Jones, who’s also appearing on TV screens as a judge on ITV’s The Voice, kicked off the tour in Nottingham way back in December 2023 before he brought the string of gigs to a close in California earlier this week.

In total, the 84-year-old racked up an incredible 74 shows across the tour, spanning two dozen countries.

After bringing the tour to a close this week, Jones took a moment to thank fans who attended for their continued support – as well as what he has up his sleeve for the future.

On Instagram, Jones shared a snap of himself alongside his team where he penned in the accompanying caption: “Hey everyone, that’s a wrap for our Ages & Stages Tour in 2024, and what a year it’s been!

Sir Tom Jones
“Just wanted to express my gratitude to you all who came to see the show this year. We understand what it takes to venture out to see a concert these days, and I want you to know how much your time and effort is appreciated.

“From the stage, it has been absolutely wonderful for me, the band and crew to visit your neighbourhood and play for you each night.

“You all know how much I love to do what I do, and to share that space with you, there is nothing better.”

Turning his attention to the future, The Voice coach continued: “We close this chapter after performing 74 shows in 24 countries this year! (Not bad for a pensioner).”

And he put to bed any question marks lingering over his future on-stage as he defiantly summed up in four words: “We’ll see you again.”

Jones signed off his post with the parting message: “So until the next time, keep healthy and happy, and keep the joy of music in your life!”

Jones’s defiance that he’ll be back on stage performing for thousands of fans comes just a few months after he opened up about the changes he’s witnessed with his voice and how he finds it “harder” to control it as he ages.

He told Yours magazine in June: “Thank God my voice is still working. I mean, I can’t believe it. When I am singing, I am like, ‘How the hell is this coming out of me?’

“If it was not there, I am sure I would be going, ‘Urgh, I don’t want to do so many shows,’ but I love it as it is still working. What could be better than that? My voice is lower now.

“As we get older, our voices drop and we get more character in them. The older you get, the less control you have over your vocal cords. All you have got to do is push it harder… and I can still do that.

“Now we are of a certain age, you have to look at life in a different light. I am not worn down in any way. Being older I feel I have got a point to prove. I can still sing and I can prove it so here it is.”

Jones will turn 85 in June 2025, but judging by his upbeat farewell to his latest tour, it sounds like the struggles with his voice won’t prevent him from stepping onto the stage once more.

In the meantime, Jones’s fans can watch him on screens in ITV’s The Voice which will air its semi-finals this weekend.

Jones has whittled down his group to just three acts he hopes will emerge victorious in the competition as he goes head-to-head with fellow coaches will.i.am, LeAnn Rimes and McFly stars Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones.
