Bad Boys: Ride Or Die Miami Premiere

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s Bad Boys: Ride or Die, the fourth installment in their buddy-cop franchise, had a strong opening weekend at the box office, with Variety reporting that the film brought in $56 million domestically, surpassing expectations. Its international opening took in another $48.6 million, bringing its global total to $104.6 million. Its predecessor, 2020’s Bad Boys for Life, remains the series’ biggest opening with $62 million. Ride or Die also notably marks Smith’s first major return to the big screen after slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. Sony, the studio behind Bad Boys, took the second spot at the box office as well, with The Garfield Movie bringing in $10 million. John Krasinski’s IF took the third-place spot with $8 million, and the Dakota Fanning–led The Watchers opened in fourth with $7 million. If only a new Madagascar movie opened the same weekend, then we could really compare how the Slap impacted both parties at the box office.
