n 2014, Coaches Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, and Adam Levine got together on The Voice for a sultry rendition of Stefani’s “No Doubt” hit “Hella Good.” And it was, well, hella good.
The performance started out with a thumping bass while Levine played some staccato guitar riffs. Stefani handled the first lyrics, then Williams took over, both singing and playing the drums at the same time. Levine later joined in by crooning in his signature tenor, followed by Shelton, who shook up things up with his country twang.
For the chorus, all four Coaches sang simultaneously while swaying to the track’s funky groove. To wrap the performance, Stefani got the crowd going and hit some enthusiastic high notes. Rock on, indeed.

A single from the band’s fifth album Rock Steady, “Hella Good” reached the number-13 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2002. The song was acclaimed by critics, who compared the song’s beat to the work of Madonna and Queen. It was written by Gwen Stefani, No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal, Pharrell Williams, and his writing partner, Chad Hugo.
