Bronny James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar and NBA legend LeBron James, has made a decision on the 2024 NBA Draft.

On his Instagram page, Bronny James announced that he’s officially declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft. In order to keep his options open, the 19-year-old James is also entering the NCAA transfer portal.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, James “will work out for and visit NBA teams and make a draft decision based on evaluation.” The USC freshman appeared in 25 games during his first season of college ball, averaging 4.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.

The 2023 McDonald’s All-American considered offers from Ohio State and USC before settling on the Trojans’ offer. This meant Bronny didn’t have to travel too far, with his family already settled in Los Angeles since the summer of 2018.

There have been whispers about LeBron wanting to play for whichever team lands Bronny, but that is obviously much easier said than done. Several NBA clubs could have interest in drafting Bronny for the simple reason of hoping that it’ll increase their chances of landing LeBron down the road.

Bronny was widely regarded as a future first-round pick, but recent projections have him going in the second round.

LeBron & Bronny James Together Would Be An NBA Dream

In the past, LeBron has talked about wanting to finish his career with the team that lands Bronny James. The King is under contract with the Lakers, who remain in win-now mode with the James-Anthony Davis pairing.

LeBron is obviously committed to winning with the Purple and Gold. His family is settled nicely in the Los Angeles area, and James may find it difficult to simply pack up and leave a good situation to play with Bronny.

Nonetheless, fans and pundits can still hold out hope that LeBron and Bronny will one day join forces at the professional level. The odds of it happening aren’t high, but there’s nothing wrong with dreaming about the Hollywood-like scenario becoming a reality.
