Britney Spears’ husband of 55 hours Jason Alexander reveals what really happened the day he crashed her wedding to Sam Asghari and got arrested – and their secret phone calls before the nuptials

Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander, who famously eloped with the pop star in Las Vegas in 2004, says he crashed her wedding to Sam Asghari last year to ‘check-up on her’.

The childhood friend of the Toxic hitmaker, 42, was arrested for battery and aggravated trespassing when he broke into her California home in 2022.

On Thursday, he told The Kyle and Jackie O Show he had a good reason for crashing her nuptials.

‘She reached out to me in 2020 and we started talking over the phone and having this private conversation that no one really knew about,’ he told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

‘So when the conservatorship ended, I felt like because of the way the conversations were going with me and her, we’d be able to actually see each other for the first time since Vegas in person, besides just speaking over the phone.

He continued: ‘So when I found out that she was getting married, I spoke to her literally like three days before that on the phone, on that Monday before the wedding and she didn’t even mention getting married.’

Jason went on to say he ‘was super surprised’ by the wedding and decided to show up to the ceremony since he ‘was actually in California at the time’.

‘So I just went there and it wasn’t very hard to get in, to be honest, because me and her talked about meeting on the hiking trail behind her house which leads to an easy entrance to the back of the property,’ he said.

Jason insisted he ‘was really just trying to see [Britney] and ask her if [the wedding] was really what she wanted’.

Despite being asked to leave, Jason said he called out to Britney while live-streaming the entire incident to Instagram, but received no response before he was apprehended by security and later arrested.

Britney and Sam later separated in August this year with the fitness instructor, 29, filing for divorce.

On Thursday morning, just over a year later, he told The Kyle and Jackie O Show he crashed Britney and Sam's wedding to make sure she actually wanted to go through with it

In her new memoir, The Woman In Me, Britney claimed her 55 hour marriage to Jason in 2004 was just ‘innocent fun’ they had when they were ‘drunk’ and ‘bored’.

She wrote: ‘He and I got s**t-faced. I don’t even remember the night at all, but from what I pieced together, he and I lounged around the hotel room and stayed up late watching movies – Mona Lisa Smile and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – then had the brilliant idea of going to A Little White Chapel at three thirty in the morning.’

However, since the release of Britney’s autobiography, Jason has slammed those claims, insisting they were very much ‘in love’ and had not been drinking at all.

The marriage – which took place on January 3, 2004 at A Little White Wedding Chapel, was annulled three days later on January 5.
