Britney Spears has been forced to shell out $10,000 a month on her estranged husband Sam Asghari’s new apartment, according to reports.

The singer, 41, split from the actor, 29, earlier this month after just a year of marriage, with sources claiming he’s unlikely to receive much from their union due to an iron-clad prenuptial agreement.

Now, it’s claimed that despite his decision to file for divorce, Britney is footing the bill for Sam’s new apartment, which is one of the most high-end new buildings in LA.

A standard unit in the building is $10,000 per month, but according to TMZ, Sam has organised a better deal.

It’s thought that Britney’s team suggested the gesture as they navigate divorce proceedings. MailOnline has contacted representatives for Sam Asghari and Britney Spears for comment.

Claims: Britney Spears has been forced to shell out $10,000 a month on her estranged husband Sam Asghari's new apartment, according to reports

Sam reportedly misses out on any money in the event of a divorce, as he and Britney were only married for 14 months, and their iron-clad prenuptial agreement stated he would get $1 million for every two years that they were married.

However, sources previously told TMZ that while the prenup prevents Sam from receiving any spousal support, he could receive a one-off cheque from Britney to prevent him from sharing any ’embarrassing information’ about their marriage.

It’s thought that the prenup features an ‘extensive confidentiality clause’  that prohibits Sam from discussing his relationship with Britney.

Sam was reportedly planning to contest the prenup by requesting spousal support and attorney’s fees, though he has denied this.

He also allegedly waived any claims to Britney’s music collection, and his name is not listed on the deeds of their shared home in Thousand Oaks, California.

The couple splashed out $11.8 million on the property, though a vast chunk of that came from Britney’s fortune.

According to the prenup, Britney and Sam agreed to put the house into a limited liability company or LLC in the event of a divorce.

It’s claimed that Britney and Sam’s lawyers will negotiate, and it’s likely that the singer will write a one-off cheque for several hundred thousand dollars to keep the confidentiality clause in place.

Not a lot! The singer split from the actor earlier this month after just a year of marriage, with sources claiming their iron-clad prenup prevents him from receiving much

If Sam were the violate the agreement, he would have to return the money.

Sam had denied claims he’s planning to contest his $10 million prenuptial agreement with Britney.

His representative Brandon Cohen told THR: ‘There are many claims that Sam is challenging the prenup and threatening to exploit his ex-wife with videos.

‘However, all these claims are false, and no negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be. Sam has always and will always support her.’

Sam broke his silence on the divorce last Friday by sharing an emotional statement to his Instagram.

‘After six years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,’ the hunky actor wrote.

He continued: ‘We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always,’ adding: ‘S**t happens.’

That same day, Britney also spoke up for the first by admitting she was ‘shocked’ by the split but said she just ‘couldn’t take the pain anymore.’

She continued: ‘In some sort of telepathic way, I have been receiving so many messages that melt my heart from friends and I thank you!!!’

‘I’ve been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that!!!’

Agreement: Sources previously said that while the prenup prevents Sam from receiving any spousal support, he could receive a one-off cheque from Britney

Britney did reassure her fans that she is ‘actually doing pretty d**n good’ despite reports that her and Sam are ‘no longer on speaking terms.’

On Tuesday, it was reported that the estranged spouses had come to an agreement regarding the custody of their dogs.

DailyMail.com had exclusively revealed that the singer feared Sam may attempt to seize ownership of their two dogs.

But a source told TMZ on Tuesday that the couple have mutually agreed to split up their adopted pooches.

Sam cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the estranged couple’s separation and has asked that Spears pay spousal support and his attorneys’ fees.

There have already been reports Sam believed Britney cheated on him – causing an alleged ‘nuclear’ row at the end of July, according to sources.

There have also been claims Sam has told friends the singer was violent towards him and would act so ‘erratically’ she would allegedly chuck knives at the wall of the LA mansion where they married in 2022.

The ‘Lucky’ singer is said to be living with her older sibling Bryan, who she remained close to throughout her long-running battle to free herself from her family’s controversial conservatorship.
