Travis Kelce got candid about one of his worst traits on the football field.

The Chiefs tight end, who returned to training camp this week after jetting around Europe with his girlfriend Taylor Swift during the off-season, admitted he can be very hard on himself.

‘I’m my biggest critic,’ he told reporters during a press conference on Saturday.

‘Nobody can tell me how bad I did on a play, I know it right away, as soon the play got over with. I know what I need to do to get better and everything,’ he continued.

‘It’s just — you have to have that certain mentality. Always finding ways to get better, even when you have success on a play. That’s just how I’ve went about it, and I got that from [coach Andy Reid], knowing that you can always do things better and you can always make somebody else’s job easier on this field.’

The three-time Super Bowl champ, who reported to training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph on Monday, also addressed his recent jaunt across the pond to support his girlfriend’s Eras Tour.

‘This is my sanctuary, baby,’ he said with a smile, referring to the dorms of Missouri Western State University where the press conference was taking place.

‘St. Joe’s, year 12. That means I’ve spent about an entire year of my life up here in the dorms,’ he went on.

‘Everybody may see that it’s pretty grueling, but I enjoy it, man. There’s something about this place that gets you ready every single year, and I’m not gonna lie, I got pretty excited as the time started counting down to get out here and get this thing rolling.’

Earlier this week, Swift’s loyal legion of fans celebrated the one year anniversary of Kelce ‘shooting his shot’ with the pop star after he attended her concert at the Chiefs’ home, Arrowhead Stadium.

On July 26, 2023, Kelce revealed on an episode of his New Heights podcast that he tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.

While his efforts were unsuccessful at the time, the couple eventually met, and their fairytale romance would later dominate headlines.

In honor of the anniversary, Swifties took to social media to commemorate his persistence.

‘Forever thankful for friendship bracelet, New Heights and Jason [Kelce] being an inquisitive big brother,’ on user wrote.

‘Travis Kelce got Taylor Swift’s attention one year ago today,’ another chimed in. ‘The rest is history.’

A third referred to their story as a ‘real life romantic comedy.’ Meanwhile, a fourth quipped ‘Well Travis, you knew what you wanted and boy, you got her.’
