While this might be something that her fans want to see, neither Clark nor Nike has released any news regarding a sneaker.
On Friday, Clark spoke to the media regarding her partnership with Nike and a possible signature sneaker.
“Nike’s been a tremendous partner and was a partner of mine through college,” Clark said. “That’s just the brand I wore as a kid so like being able to be with them is a dream and you know, something I don’t take lightly. I’m not giving any teasers though, like I don’t do that so wait and see. Maybe it will come, maybe it won’t come, I don’t know.”
Caitlin Clark’s stellar play has been at the center of attention since her days as a collegiate player in Iowa, and she has carried that following into the WNBA. Her popularity has also caused a surge in the WNBA’s popularity, causing even her preseason games to be sold out.
Clark hasn’t let down her supporters either as she has had an impressive rookie season thus far. She has been rewarded with an All-Star selection. Clark is a member of the WNBA All-Stars, which will face Team USA, which is comprised of WNBA stars who will play in the Paris Olympics.
Looking back at the first half of Caitlin Clark’s rookie season
The WNBA’s All-Star weekend marks the mid-way point of the season, and it is safe to say that Caitlin Clark has had a good career so far. While the Indiana Fever has faced some struggles in the first half of the season, drafting Clark has proven to be a great choice.
Clark suited up in all 26 of the Fever’s games prior to the All-Star break, and she quickly established herself as the team’s leader on offense.
Despite being a rookie, Clark led her team in both points and assists. At this point of the season, she is averaging 17.1 points and 8.2 assists per game. In the team’s final game before the break, Clark set the WNBA’s single-game assist record at 19 while scoring 24 points. However, the Fever lost that game to the Dallas Wings.
The WNBA will enter a break that will last until August 14 for the Paris Olympics. This will give Caitlin Clark much-needed rest as she prepares to end her rookie season on a high note.
