Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are making noise around the WNBA. Both are on vacation after being snubbed from the USA Basketball women’s team for the upcoming Paris Olympics. Despite that, the two rookies are making a huge impact on the league, per news.
TMZ Sports shares that Fanatics announced that Clark and Reese lead the entire WNBA in jersey sales. According to the popular site, there’s been a 500% surge in sales during the first part of the 2024 WNBA season compared to last year.
Moreover, the increase in player-specific merch sales has reached a 1,000% increase. Clark and Reese rank first and second in this regard, respectively.
“Fan gear sales for the first half of the season are the highest in league history,” Fanatics said.
The two young stars have had a terrific impact on the league. Both became All-Stars in their rookie season and made teams like the Washington Mystics change the venue of their games. The latter allowed more people to watch Clark and Reese.
The All-Star Game in Phoenix became a historic moment for Fanatics, recording the most on-site ales in WNBA history. Sabrina Ionescu, rookie Kate Martin and MVP candidate A’ja Wilson close out the top five in jersey sales this season.

Angel Reese shared touches with Caitlin Clark in the WNBA All-Star Game over the weekend. When asked by the commentators about Clark, Reese said she wants to play with the Indiana Fever rookie when they represent their country. Although they were snubbed from the USA Basketball women’s team this year, Reese plans on getting the chance in 2028.
“It’s all cool,” Reese told the commentators during the game. “When she gets the ball, I’m running to look for the ball because she’s gonna throw it. She’s been great to play with. I mean, the future, we’re gonna be playing together a lot. Hopefully, in 4 years, we can be in the Olympics together. I’m excited.”
Reese and Clark were there for the WNBA All-Stars. Clark dished 10 assists, while Reese posted an 11-point and 11-rebound double-double, helping Arike Ogunbowale lead the WNBA team to the win against Team USA.
