Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese End WNBA Drought That Lasted A Decade
The rosters for the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game have been finally revealed, and to one’s surprise, Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark is going to be part of the event. Also joining Clark at the annual exhibition game is no other than fellow first-year pro Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky.
With Clark and Reese making the list of players for the All-Star Game, a decade-long drought has ended as this is the first time since 2014 that at least a couple of rookies have been selected to play at the said contest, as pointed out by StatMamba.
“Caitlin Clark & Angel Reese are both All-Stars. The first time in a decade that two rookies were both selected to the All-Star game ⭐”
Back in 2014 Shoni Schimmel and Chiney Ogwumike participated in that year’s All-Star Game as rookies, with Schimmel even earning the MVP award.
Clark received the most All-Star votes this year with 700,735, while Reese is fifth overall with 381,518.
The 2024 WNBA All-Star Game will take place on July 20 at Footprint Center in Phoenix.
