Caitlin Clark Encouraged to Shoot Even More by Indiana Fever Coach, Responding to WNBA Star’s Frustration About Rarely Receiving In-Game Advice-nhung

Caitlin Clark told to shoot MORE by her Indiana Fever coach – after WNBA star said she NEVER gets advice in games.

In the aftermath of back-to-back losses, Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides said that she spoke to star Caitlin Clark about getting more shots up.

Speaking to reporters before Indiana’s game against the Phoenix Mercury, Sides said that she has advised the star guard to look for more openings to shoot the ball.

‘We talked a few –– in the game the other night she had a couple passes that she made, that she probably should’ve not made, and been more looking to shoot in those moments. So just trying to balance that with her… a couple more.’

Across 38 minutes of game time in the 89-77 loss to the Seattle Storm, Clark went 4-for-9 from the field and 3-for-7 from 3-point range.

She finished the night with 15 points, six rebounds, and seven assists as she co-led the team in points.

Indiana coach Christie Sides says she’s told Caitlin Clark to look to take more shots

But after Friday night’s defeat, Clark was asked about the best piece of in-game advice she has received from a veteran teammate so far this season.

‘Nobody gives me advice in game. I wish,’ she admitted.

Advising Clark to take more shots could have adverse effects on her shooting percentage.

Currently, Clark is shooting 40 percent from the field and 35.5 percent from beyond the arc. She averages 12.2 shots per game, good for 20th most in the league and second most on the team.

As of Sunday afternoon, Clark is the second-highest scorer on the Fever – just 0.1 points a game behind teammate Kelsey Mitchell. That’s good for 16th leaguewide.

On Sunday, Clark will take on Diana Taurasi and the Mercury in a long-anticipated matchup.
