The Halloween season has brought out the strangeness in athletes from the NBA to the NFL, WNBA, and beyond.

Indiana Pacers star guard Tyrese Haliburton showed his strange side on Monday with a Michael Jackson ‘Thriller’ themed costume that caught the attention of a large cross-section of his Instagram audience, including teammate Myles Turner and fellow Indiana basketball superstar Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever.

The picture elicited plenty of comments as Haliburton was surrounded by Thriller video-style makeup and costume wearers that may as well have been on a vintage 1980s music video set.

“So hard omg,” Clark wrote in the comments section as she reacted to the vintage Michael Jackson themed costume Haliburton was wearing.

Turner reacted with a GIF of the Michael Jackson Thriller video, which came out in December 1983.

The Pacers were scheduled to face coach JB Bickerstaff and the Detroit Pistons in Motown for the two teams’ season opener at Oct. 23 at Little Caesars Arena.

The Pacers are an early five-point favorite against the underdog Pistons, who set records for futility last season including a record-tying 28-game losing streak under ex-coach Monty Williams.
