There was one basket from the WNBA All-Star Game that was not shown on the broadcast, but Caitlin Clark‘s loyal fan base has found the footage from a courtside videographer. Let’s just say Team USA’s Sabrina Ionescu probably wishes that the video stayed hidden.

The All-Star Game in Phoenix served as a harsh reality check for the United States Olympic Basketball Team, who fell 117-109 to the rest of the WNBA All-Stars who did not make the Olympic roster, including Clark.

Consider it the latest stop on the Indiana Fever rookie’s Olympic “snub” revenge tour, which has seen her frustrate 6-time Olympian Diana Taurasi, win head-to-head against Team USA coach Cheryl Reeve, and now, cross up Ionescu, one of the guards who is going to Paris instead of Clark.

The New York Liberty star must not have read the scouting report. She let Caitlin Clark get to her right hand with a hesitation move, and the rest was history. In her defense, rim protector Brittney Griner did not offer much help behind Ionescu, but that is part of Clark’s magic.

Griner knew that if she tried to block Clark at the rim, it would leave the pass to Angel Reese open, just like it did when the two rookies connected on this historic play.

While someone at ABC might have gotten yelled at for missing a scoring play by the WNBA’s top-selling attraction, it probably didn’t hurt the ratings too much. If anything, it gave Clark’s fans one delayed moment of gratification to savor during the one month break when Caitlin will finally get to rest during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
