Heading into the WNBA All-Star break, the Rookie of the Year race is very much alive, with both Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark looking to separate from one another as the favorite.

As it stands, Clark is the current favorite to win the award, especially after her record-breaking 19-assist performance on Wednesday night against the Dallas Wings.

Looking at their stats, Clark has outperformed Reese in nearly every stat, showing her impact on both ends of the court. Many fans reacted to the tweet, with some giving flowers to the Fever guard.

Here are some of the reactions from fans on X/Twitter:

“Wasnt ever a debate to begin with tbh,” a fan said.

“Never was. Caitlin changed the game for the WNBA,” added another.

“Caitlin Clark for Rookie of the Year,” another fan said.

Other fans gave their thoughts on Angel Reese:

“How does Reese shoot this bad from right under the rim lol,” one fan noted.

“It never was. CC is elite. Reese stat pads and rebounds atleast 5 of her own shots per game… atleast.” another fan said.

“It wasn’t ever really a debate. Reese needed to break the double-doubles record to even register in the conversation but has fallen off the past few games.” a fan said.

Going into their first All-Star break, Clark has posted 17.1 points, 8.2 assists and 5.8 rebounds in 26 games played for Indiana. Meanwhile, Reese has posted 13.5 ppg, 11.9 rpg and 1.8 apg in 23 games played so far this season.

Caitlin Clark breaks single-game assist record vs. Wings

Caitlin Clark’s 19 assists versus the Dallas Wings on Wednesday night at College Park Center broke the WNBA’s single-game assist record. She also poured in 24 points and grabbed six rebounds in the Fever’s 101-93 loss.

The guard’s performance has seemingly shifted many people’s perspective on the Rookie of the Year race, with some declaring that Caitlin Clark is beginning to run away with the award. With just 15 games left, it will be interesting to see how the race evolves down the stretch of the season.

Clark’s play seems to be elevating with each passing game. The rookie guard’s high level could hoist her into the MVP conversation if the Fever can go on a run in their final 15 games of the season.

Clark’s stellar rookie performance landed her the most votes of any player in the fan-voting portion of the All-Star voting.

Ahead of the WNBA’s All-Star break, Clark announced she would not be competing in the 3-point contest.
