Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has taken the WNBA by storm in her rookie season, but her fame began well before this year. One of the greatest college athletes ever, Clark’s run at Iowa was historic.

During her time at Iowa, Clark also formed a very close friendship with teammate Kate Martin, who was selected by the Las Vegas Aces 18th overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The two have maintained their close friendship even while no longer teammates, and that was on display again in a heartfelt social media exchange on Monday.

Underneath a post from Martin that included a picture or her and Clark, the Fever star shared two comments for her close friend:

Clark and Martin have faced off twice at the WNBA level, with Las Vegas winning both of those games. Reaching two national championship games together at Iowa, Clark and Martin have a bond that cannot be broken.

While Clark is amid an incredible rookie campaign, Martin’s has been a bit more challenging from a basketball standpoint. Appearing in 19 games for Las Vegas this season, Martin is averaging just 15.2 minutes per game. That said, the former Iowa star has converted on 38.3% of her three-point attempts, which is a solid clip.

WNBA fans have fallen in love with the friendship Martin and Clark share, as the two remain incredibly excited to see each other whenever crossing paths. This was most recently seen before the latest Fever vs. Aces game, as Clark and Martin shared an emotional embrace:

Continuing to support one another, Clark and Martin are embarking on their respective WNBA journeys after sharing some very special moments together at the collegiate level.
