Since the beginning of the WNBA playoffs, the league has seen notable changes, particularly in the coaching department. A social media report on Friday revealed that Dallas Wings head coach Latricia Trammell was dismissed from her coaching duties after two seasons.

While much of the attention surrounded the Wings’ future, some fans were also curious to see what was going on in Indiana. There have been four coaches fired during the 2024 offseason, but it seems the Fever are tied down with Christie Sides.

Sides has been with the Fever since 2023. In her first season with the organization, Sides helped the Fever earn a 13-27 record.

Indiana vastly improved during the 2024 season, finishing the year with a 20-20 record and its first playoff appearance since 2016, but fans seem to be ready to let go of Sides.

Below are some of the fan’s reactions to the firing of Latricia Trammell.

“christie sides youre next!” said one fan.

“FIRE CHRISTIE SIDES ALREADY,” said another fan.

“Another coach that’s not Christie Sides.” mentioned one fan.

“Fever fans to Christie Sides, everytime a coach gets fired.” commented one fan with a photo that said, “You’re next.”

“EVERYBODY BUT CHRISTIE SIDES IVE HAD ENOUGH.” said one fan.

“that “indiana fever has fired christie sides” tweet gon make me shed tears of joy.” said another fan.

Despite the Fever clinching a playoff spot in 2024 and attaining their first 20-win season since 2015, fans have pointed out a few issues in Sides’ coaching that they believe will hurt the future of the organization.

The main issue in the Fever community is Sides’ role in developing rookie Caitlin Clark. The No. 1 overall pick from 2024 averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game.

Despite her success, some fans believe Sides is holding back Clark from her full potential, leading to a few members of the fanbase wanting to fire Indiana’s head coach.

“Fever need to fire Sides. If they run it is all Clark/Mitchell/Boston taking the correct thing in front of them. If they don’t run, they stand around, and nobody moves or runs or plays. Sides does not prepare the team at all.” said one fan.

“FIRE CHRISTIE SIDES! She doesn’t have pulse of the team as Caitlin Clark got us back in the game and not using her timeouts what an incompetent coach,” said another fan.

“The Fever have to fire Sides. How do you draw up an inbounds play that isn’t for Clark while also not having her make the inbounds pass? Out of a timeout at that…” mentioned one fan about a previous Fever game.

“Fire Sides, she is destroying these women’s careers, especially Caitlyn Clark’s.” said one fan.

“If they only had a good coach. Fire Christie Sides. She is a terrible coach who draws up ridiculous plays and is a horrible game manager. Stop wasting Clark’s talent. Get rid of Dunn as well, she is part of the problem.” said another fan.

“Caitlin Clark is on FIRE! This is the way. Don’t play Christie Sides’ slow half court game and keep pushing!” commented one fan.
