CBS host Nate Burleson had harsh words on Wednesday for those ripping the NFL’s Taylor Swift-centric promo video, as he told detractors to ‘get our your mama’s basement.’
Some NFL fans were angered the day prior when the the league released a promotional video featuring Swift – the girlfriend of Chiefs star Travis Kelce – an incredible five times.
But Burleson, a former receiver with the Lions, thinks those viewers need to get over themselves.
‘Get out of your feelings, ‘oh are you upset, you’re a little mad because Taylor Swift is in the promo? ‘Who cares,’ he said on CBS Mornings, as per Awful Announcing.
‘Wipe the drool off your tank top, put some pants on and get out your mama’s basement! I don’t understand what the big deal is! Every other sport can show celebrities at their games, we show Taylor Swift, and you get in your feels. Man, get out of your feelings and watch the games.’

Swift dominated a new promo for the 2024 NFL season ahead of this week’s openers
The promo video in question showed Patrick Mahomes – widely regarded as the best player in the league – just one time, while prominent names like Joe Burrow and Brock Purdy weren’t featured at all.
Other high-profile players who did not feature in the promo, which runs through the six calendar months of the season, include quarterbacks CJ Stroud (Texans), Matthew Stafford (Rams) and Jordan Love (Packers).
Swift, meanwhile, is first seen celebrating next to Kelce’s mom Donna at Arrowhead in two separate clips for September, before January includes her arriving at a game while wearing a custom-made ‘Kelce 87’ Chiefs jacket.
January also shows Taylor sharing a kiss with Travis on the field after Kansas City’s AFC Championship victory in Baltimore, while a clip of her chugging a beer on the big screen at last season’s Super Bowl features in February.
And NFL fans were furious at Swift’s repeated presence in the video.

Swift’s romance with Travis Kelce drew her fanbase to flood into the NFL’s airwaves
One wrote in astonishment on X: ‘Taylor Swift was shown 5 times in this 28 second clip of football being back.’
A third posted: ‘saw taylor swift 5 times and didn’t even see my own team’.
A fourth commented: ‘lol I can be okay with Taylor Swift being in it once, but being the one individual with those most screen time for an NFL hype video is absurd’.
Kelce’s Chiefs open the season on Thursday vs. the Ravens, and Swift will surely be featured on the TV broadcast if she’s in the building.
